Facebook, Twitter, Messenger you name it. I think the positive and negative effects depends of the way that we abuse the social media sites, but we are teens we are controlled by these mighty social media. It's like our fingers are glued on the keyboard, our mind constantly tell you that grab your iPod and go on Facebook.
I think every child should be taught what's appropriate to do and to say on the websites, it's just like teaching the child how to cook before letting them turn on the oven by themselves.
This study shows that most victims of bullying are bombarded at through instant messaging. Which will make them feel insecure, I know for a fact if someone was talking about my body image or the way I look or dress will make me feel insecure.
The most noticeable negative part about social media is the picture of the pretty girls or the cute boys and the way their so glamorous and there clothes just make you feel like I cant be like they say the standards way to high. Through grade 8 I've realised something, you know those days when your not looking your best and then you go ahead apologies for not looking your best but the moment it hits you that you apologised for being you, it's really going to bring you down.
The positive affect about social media is that you can interact with other people that really like you for who you are.
I think the best way of getting over with social media or minimising your time is go outside with friends and family, have a face to face conversation with someone and just think positive thoughts.
