Quote of the day response
" To light a light is to cast a shadow. One cannot exist without the other"
1. What does the quote mean?
There's always a negative to a positive what I mean to say is that when trying out new things or maybe just doing something positive always has a negative thing giving support to the positive thought. For example if you move to another school and quickly make new friends I think the negative would be that you have no idea what kind of people they are and what there personality is.
I think this quote would relate to anyone and it even does to me. In the past I was in a touring class. This class was every day from 4-7 and it had its own books and own concept. So the positive has that I have getting the hang of mental math and more creative with my language but the negative I didn't have time to do my school homework so when I come back I would do it but then I didn't have time to sit down and relax .

Fact of the day
- When hippos are upset, their sweat turns red. Well umm... Wouldn't it be so awesome and different if only about 1/4 of the population on earth had sweat that turned red if they were upset.
Silhouettes prints
Silhouettes Prints
Silhouettes prints are so inexpensive, easy to do and look totally amazing, you can be so creative with it and take it farther and in class we experimented with the prints and not only it was so much fun I got addicted to it. They're really easy steps.
1) Go browsing for silhouettes prints on the Internet and if it's your first time remember to find easy prints so it won't be that hard like the batman logo.
2) Trace out your silhouette on a white sheet of paper.
3) Then easy out your silhouettes out, and use the cut out as the template to trace on a cardboard.
4) Then simply cut out your design and paint it as you wish.
5) lastly place your design on a card stock paper and by using pressure create your print.
I have done silhouettes prints with using 2 different templates so I have decided to experiment more with it.
Just remember to stay creative and have a lot of fun.

Mental illness
Does social media have a negative or positive impact on children’s mental health? Be specific and cite examples in your response.

Facebook, Twitter, Messenger you name it. I think the positive and negative effects depends of the way that we abuse the social media sites, but we are teens we are controlled by these mighty social media. It's like our fingers are glued on the keyboard, our mind constantly tell you that grab your iPod and go on Facebook.
I think every child should be taught what's appropriate to do and to say on the websites, it's just like teaching the child how to cook before letting them turn on the oven by themselves.
This study shows that most victims of bullying are bombarded at through instant messaging. Which will make them feel insecure, I know for a fact if someone was talking about my body image or the way I look or dress will make me feel insecure.
The most noticeable negative part about social media is the picture of the pretty girls or the cute boys and the way their so glamorous and there clothes just make you feel like I cant be like they say the standards way to high. Through grade 8 I've realised something, you know those days when your not looking your best and then you go ahead apologies for not looking your best but the moment it hits you that you apologised for being you, it's really going to bring you down.
The positive affect about social media is that you can interact with other people that really like you for who you are.
I think the best way of getting over with social media or minimising your time is go outside with friends and family, have a face to face conversation with someone and just think positive thoughts.
Lesson of the day
Remember to live your life by your own principles.
Remember it live your life to the fullest, you never know if they're is a tomorrow
Journal prompt on Music
Journal Prompt
Tell me about a type of music you detest and why (2 specific reasons). Is this music just rubbish, or is it merely that you don't like it? The beats are horrid? The lyrics are pointless? (provide a specific example and lyrics to support your position)
Music, no general word can describe the love that all of us give to it. Music is like one giant hug filled with so many different feelings and emotions. Music helps you escape the reality that we live in, but once in a while we come across the types of songs and genres that make you just go to your bed screaming and crying for some to turn the song off.
Well I would describe it as the Cheesy genre and songs others would as POP genre and songs.
In general there are some songs that I hate in the pop genre like "Call Me Maybe" well don't get me wrong I dislike the song because of the Cheesy lyrics like " Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad", like you don't even know the person, how would you miss someone if they're not in your life, the lyrics have no purpose, it has no meaning and the singer has made it her regular tunes but for most of the time I don't get it why would anyone want to make a cheesy song and make it a one hit wonder or have meaning full lyrics and make it on the charts.
Pop genres, I wouldn't say I hate all the pop songs but pop hasn't made a name for itself because of their one hit wonder songs. Pop does have the beat but the beat backlashes over their lyrics.

Lesson of the day
" To succeed in life, you need 3 things:
a wishbone
a backbone
and a funny bone "
- Reba McEntrie
Remember that there's no limit to imagination and goals.
Remember that's it's not wrong to ask for help if you stumble.
Remember that positive thoughts will get you through anything.
If I were a bird
If I were a bird
If I were a bird for just a second
I would free myself from this place
Where tensions create and forcing your family to drift away
I would go past infinity
Waving bye to the people who are tying their shoelaces for the race
Soon I will go to the distance of forever
As planed I would stay there for the rest of eternity
The cold breeze would blow my light blue and pink feathers back
At the same time I would feel the Suns flare firing my back
I would break the jail of restrictions that I was in,
I would dismiss all my problems from my mind and just feel my finger tip touching the smooth could as I go by,
I would use my wings to fly, just to know that freedom isn't a lie
But if I were a bird for a second

Photography
Photography: I have to admit photography is awesome. Exploring and trying something new was really entertaining because of all the mistakes that I've made while learning. Photography gave me a new stander for creativity. Sometimes I would think to myself why didn't i try this earlier
Task: We were suppose to take a scene or scenes for the book Rebound by Eric Walters and take a photo to give a clear lunderstanding to someone who wasn't read the book. This was a group project and my group made a mistake by putting to much blood on the hands we decided to give it a shot and the the photo are our final result.
This was a Twitter challenge given by Mr. Cheney. The challenge was to come up with a quote and by using Over display it on a picture of Mr.Cheney holding a white sheet of paper. So I gave it a shot but found mine lacking the creativity. So I drew a picture of a student holding a blank sheet of paper and by using Over and added my quote.
Over: Over is an app that you can display text upon a picture. I think the proper way of using over is having a quote related to the picture and using the fonts and words to make the text and the picture stand out.
Art
Art: A freedom of speech and expression. Something that showcases the inner talents that are sometimes hidden.
Task: Draw an outline of a lip and a nose. Shade them to make them look realistic, using the shading methods that we learned
The drawing has an open lip and I drew it by starting with the Middle and working my way up and down.
Shading: the light is coming from the left side so the left side would have to be lighter than the right side

Science Fair
MAGNIFICENT, OUTSTANDING, INCREDIBLE
STRUCTURE SCIENCE FAIR BY GRADE 1's AT BEAUMONDE HEIGHTS!!!!
Today I've had the pleasure, joy and
It has my honour to visit the Grade 1's Structure Science Fair at Beaumonde Heights. The creativity flowing out of there project was totally state- of- the - arts, the task was totally old fashioned but the way that these grade ones had added a pop of colour to this dull assignment. There technique of creativity winning me and you over all took place on April, 29th 2015.
The project was simple it just had to be a structure which is strong, stable and have a purpose to it but as I explored I got to met the teachers of these wonderful students. I interacted with Mrs. Sandhu I asked about the creativity she responded
"I think they made it bigger than it was suppose to be, they understood the concept and used the material that was appropriate to their structure and brought the creativity out". Along with Mrs. Sandhu I also got to connect with Mrs. Orrico, I asked her about what stirred the idea?
"Because the students were very proud of their structure and we had to present to the school as the respond of how creative grade ones can be"
Furthermore I also got to merge with the
Grades 1's and ask them about there project, what materials they used and what gave them the idea. Most of them had a lot of courage and politely replied that they had an idea, told their parents and their parents helped them achieve it . "I love the way that the parents get involved into the children's learning" Mrs. Suppa.
Overall the Structural Science Fair was a huge success, I had a great time exploring and examining the knowledge of these children. A huge milestone in these children's learning. The learning that's going on at Beaumonde Heights doesn't have any words to explain it.
